Young people, office staff, trade unions and campaigners from across South Yorkshire are joining thousands across the world calling for action on climate change.
Doncaster's Sir Nigel Gresley Square, Barnsley Town Hall and Rotherham's Riverside House are home to climate protests today.
They are part of the Global Climate Strike.
People will be encouraged to make small changes themselves, and the country's decision makers are urged to take immediate action.
It comes as Doncaster Council has declared a climate and biodiversity emergency - Barnsley Council is expected to do the same next week.
