The Prime Minister has responded to calls from the Sheffield City Region Mayor - and a number of other local leaders - for more powers to be handed over to leaders across Yorkshire.
Boris Johnson acknowledged a letter sent to him - saying he strongly believes the county's towns and cities must have greater self-governance.
He also said we must move forward with a "practical" approach towards more devolution.
Sheffield City Region Mayor Dan Jarvis, Barnsley Council Leader Sir Steve Houghton, Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones and Wakefield Council Leader Peter Box are among those asking for a regional agreement.
However Rotherham Council leader Chris Read is reluctant of a Yorkshire wide deal.
