Parents urged to park properly - to keep South Yorkshire youngsters safe

There is a plea for parents not to put children's safety at risk with bad parking outside schools across South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire's Safer Roads Partnership is urging drivers not to leave cars close to the school gates, or to drop off on the zig-zag yellow lines.

The organisations manager, Joanne Wehrle, said: "Penalty measures have got tougher, but I think drivers still need to be aware and considerate. It could be your child who is masked by a parked car on a zig zag, and put at greater risk. You wouldn't want that for your child so please don't risk other children's lives."
