The number of social homes being delivered in Barnsley has fallen within the last decade, that's according to new research.
Figures show over 5 thousand people were on the waiting list in the town last year.
Tony Stacey from South Yorkshire Housing Association says social housing hasn't been prioritised enough.
It comes as nationally Shelter claim 200-billion pounds needs to be spent on three million new homes to solve the problem in England.
The Government insists providing quality and fair social housing is a priority.
