Local police are getting mental health training

Mental health patients are three times more likely to become victims of crime in our area.

Mental health patients are three times more likely to become victims of crime in South Yorkshire.

That's according to new research, with the risk of assault rising to 5 times that for the overall population.

It comes as officers in our area are being trained to recognise mental health problems when they are attending active incidents.
