Coronavirus: South Yorkshire's mayor calls for safe working as lockdown eased

Sheffield City Region Mayor, Dan Jarvis, is calling on employers to ensure workplaces are safe, as lockdown restrictions are eased.

Mr Jarvis says he is working with trade unions, local authorities, employers and government - particularly in the region’s substantial warehousing and distribution sector.

It is to make sure workers can operate safely and with suitable social distancing measures in place.

South Yorkshire has 21,000 people employed in warehousing and storage facilities, transportation of freight and support roles for the sector.
