It's summer holiday time and hopefully we are in for a scorcher this year! Visit Magna Science Adventure Centre and and make the most of your family time in a fun AND educational environment.
Magna is a science centre set in the former Templeborough steelworks. With over 100 hands-on exhibits in the four pavilions; Air, Earth, Fire and Water recall the 'elements' needed for making steel. It is a vast building, 1/3rd of a mile long and 150ft high, rich with the heritage of the region's steel industry.
Alongside the pavilions; make sure to catch the Big Melt show a fabulous recreation of 'E' furnace, one of 6 electric arc furnaces that once melted the steel in this vast building and learn all about its history along the way.
Throughout the holidays make even more of your visit with:
Weather permitting; your kids will love to let off a little steam outdoors in Magna's Sci-Tek and Aqua-Tek playgrounds too. Look out for the brand new Rother FM games on the hut, can you find Ryan the Lion?
Specially designed to let children of all ages explore and learn through play, Sci-Tek is a wonderland of texture, colour and fascinating features! Think linked trampoline sets, spinning bowls, tilted roundabouts, twisted slides, rockets and castles. Whilst Aqua-Tek is an adventure in all things water. Be warned – you’re going to get wet, wet, wet as you spray, mist and squirt your way around.
On warmer days you may wish to bring a swimming costume, but definitely bring a towel and a change of clothes.
When planning your visit to Magna please do check opening times here and last entry is one hour before closing.
