The Barnsley singer and film maker Dave Cherry will be premiering his new film The Worsbrough Dale Mine Disasters on big screens at Thursday September 5th at the Dale Tavern West Street, Barnsley S70 5PG.
It will be an evening of film and cabaret. Ronnie Steele is the compere and guitar vocalist Darren Knight, Steve Riley and Judy Collings are also on the bill.
Some 300 men and boys died in a 25 year period in the 19th century and the film, using archive film, traces the causes of the explosions and the effect on the local community.
The event is free of charge and all the proceeds are for the Barnsley Hospice.
An early entry is recommended as these events are very popular and there are limited spaces available.
