Barnsley Unplugged

Wednesdays and Fridays, 'Barnsley Unplugged' takes over Dearne FM on Alex's daytime show at 12.30pm. Alex plays a track from a local act and tells you where you can hear more music from the chosen artist.   • Frazer - 13th December

    Frazer are a 5-piece alternative rock band from Sheffield.  Formed in 2011, their sound is guitar-heavy with sizeable riffs and frequent guitar solos, underpinned by solid bass lines and accompanied with piano and synth.  Captained by lead singer Ash Clarke’s powerful voice, Frazer generate a very raw and energetic sound, both live and in the studio.

    Tom Jane is an accomplished solo artist who brings originality and a new feel to the blues. With influences from the greats, he utilises an array of pedals to create sweet guitar sounds and layer vocal harmonies. Custom made 'Licence Plate' stomp boxes bring an infectious rhythm to his live performances.

    Silhouettes are a British rock band from Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Formed in 2014, the group are building their reputation by playing shows across the United Kingdom and currently working on the release debut extended play called ‘Old Flames.’ The bands main influences include American rock bands Mayday Parade, Taking Back Sunday, Incubus as well as the British rock bands Lower Than Atlantis & You Me at Six.

  • The Outcharms - 15th November

    The Outcharms are a 4 piece indie rock band from Doncaster. Still only 16, they started the band at school, playing their first gig when they were just 14 years old.  They won a battle of the bands competition to open this years Conisbrough Music Festival (headlined by Tony Christie), and have subsequently played the main stage at Tickhill T-Fest; supported Oddity Road at Sheffield O2 Academy; as well as playing alongside local band The Kavaliers at The Leopard and Social Bar.  They released their first single in August - Right Crowd is available to stream and download from all major platforms.  Their next Doncaster gig is on the 24th November at the Leopard supporting Billy Bibby and the Wry Smiles.
