Barnsley Unplugged

     

If you are a solo artist or part of a band in the Barnsley area then 'Barnsley Unplugged' is for you! Wednesdays and Fridays, 'Barnsley Unplugged' takes over Dearne FM on Alex's daytime show at 12.30pm. Alex plays a track from a local act and tells you where you can hear more music from the chosen artist.   • Matt James - 16th August

    Matt was born in Sheffield, and now lives in Rossington, Doncaster.  Matt joined the Army at 16, and left in 2009. Matt then began working as a rail engineer. Since then Matt has now quit that to concentrate on music full time.

     

  • Artizans - 9th August

    Originally known as Redlights (late 2012- early 2014) the group matured and re-branded with a new musical direction in mind. They met back in 2012 in Barnsley, where some of the band studied music at Barnsley College.

    The Artizans spent the next two years as Redlights testing the waters, getting to know each other until they could truly find their own musical identity. 
     
  • Sharon West - 2nd August

    Sharon has been working as a singer for over 20 years, originally performing with a number of bands on the cabaret circuit then moving onto working with original bands in more recent years, playing at a range of live music venues and music festivals. During this period Sharon developed her love of song writing and after being encouraged by a friend and fellow songwriter began to record her own music this year. Her first single “Breathe” is due to be released on the 24th July 2017 and will be followed by two further singles with an album planned for release in 2018.

  • Ginger Tom - 19th July

    Ginger Tom are a Doncaster Band. They recently played at the Askern Music Festival.  Ginger Tom is made up of singer and guitarists Dan Washbourn and Tom Prendergast, drummer Alex Byard-Cooke and bassist Luke Broadhurst.
