Barnsley Farmers Call For More To Be Done To Tackle Rural Crime

A farmer believes more needs to be done to tackle rural crime across Barnsley and the Dearne Valley.

Russell Toothill says youths ride quad bikes on his land and damage crops and fences - but there have been more serious crimes in hotspot areas.

He believes farmers have a lack of support due to cuts in police resources.

The region's police and crime commissioner - Dr Alan Billings - has met with members of the National Farmers Union, and is urging them to report every incident.
